Founder Dimitrie Otlacan created INNOVA in 2003, to serve as a platform for his numerous research and development projects, mostly focused on railway-related technologies.
INNOVA places great emphasis on acquiring capabilities, knowledge, and skills, and has built a fantastic team to sustain its numerous projects. Some of the people behind INNOVA’s achievements are:
Dimitrie OTLACAN, Mech. Eng.
Dimitrie has over 30 years direct experience in the railway industry, of which more than 10 years managing a private business as certified supplier to national railway administrations throughout Europe.
He has over 30 patents, and he specializes in shock absorbers, railway buffers, crash buffers, tensometry, dynamic and static testing of rolling stock.
At INNOVA, he acts as Managing Director, and oversees the R&D and the Measurements departments.

Iosif KAPOSTA, Prof. PhD
Iosif is a hugely experienced engineer, Dean of Engineering and Economical Sciences Faculties of the Aurel Vlaicu University, where he also leads the didactic and scientific activities.
With more than 50 published works and 7 patents, Iosif has been included in 4 editions of the Marquis “Who’s Who in the World“, and is a renowned specialist in Machine Construction, Environment Protection, and Equipment Testing and Audit.
At INNOVA, Iosif supervises and advises on all things machinery.
Francisc TUSZ, Prof. PhD
Francisc has a PhD in Electro-Mechanical Engineering, and a solid professional and academic career that spans over 40 decades. With 3 published books, 2 university courses, almost 50 published papers, and 18 inventions and innovations, Francisc is a well-known and reputable Weldings and Robotics specialist, having recently been awarded the International Welding Inspector title (International Institute of Welding). His latest academic position was that of professor with the Aurel Vlaicu University, and he is currently running his own consultancy business. He manages or advises numerous professional bodies in the fields of Weldings and Robotics, and is a dedicated promoter of the local business scene, particularly SMEs.
At INNOVA, Francisc supervises all welding-related activities.
Virgil DUMA, Prof. PhD
Virgil is a Professor in Mechanisms and Measuring Systems, with an emphasis on Opto-Mechanics, at the Aurel Vlaicu University. As of 2008, he is the Scientific Secretary of the Faculty of Engineering, and since 2005 Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of the University, Series: Mechanical Engineering. Since 2007, Virgil is a VP of EUROP RO, the Romanian branch of the European Robotics Platform. Virgil specializes in: Optical Design, Mechanism, Robotics; has published 10 books and over 100 papers; has 1 patent.

Sorin JURCA, Assist. PhD student
Sorin is a university assistant and PhD student at Aurel Vlaicu University, the Automatization, Autovehicles and Rolling Stock Department.
Sorin specializes in Product Design.
